About 'Digestion & Diabetes'

What is 'Digestion & Diabetes' about?

It is all about food and monitoring its glucose level. The aim of this blog is to compare how glucose trends in our body after consuming various food.

For example,

  • Comparing White rice, Millet, Brown Rice..
  • Comparing various porridges like Oatmeal, Wheat, Black Rice, Millet, etc
  • Comparing Rice Dosa vs Wheat Dosa vs Ragi Dosa
  • Observing sugar levels after eating so-called sugarless chocolates, drinks, etc.

Who Am I & What I do here?

Let me clarify that I am not a medical professional or representative, and I am not promoting any products claiming to cure diabetes. I am simply sharing my personal experiences as an individual living with diabetes, experimenting with different foods to find the best options.

I strive to maintain fairness in my tests by keeping all surrounding factors the same while trying different foods. This includes consuming the food at the same time, in the same quantity, with the same water intake, and testing glucose levels at the same intervals. I also ensure the same level of physical activity.

How does it help you?

Now, coming back to the heart of this channel: comparing foods. Each person's response to food can vary, and what affects one individual might not be the same for another. I might start my day with a glucose level of 200 while you might start with 100. But what we can observe here is how it reacted to me with Food A and how it reacted with Food B on the same person. Comparison of the spikes. I believe this would provide valuable insights into how our bodies react to different food items.
